Mmmmm, the sweet smell of nostalgia. That's the scent wafting off Hurra's etsy shop - a warm, cozy base with top notes of pizza and ALF. This shop takes you right back to your youth (or, for those on the 90s trend for the first time, your fantasy youth) with hand drawn illustrations of the decade's finest, from Cher Horowitz to Dawson Leery to Mrs. Doubtfire.

Modern culture reigns supreme here too, with avocado, pizza and Beyonce as far as the eye can see. Each person or thing produced from Hurra's pen becomes a stylized fantasy version of itself, all bright colors and kitschy winks. Their diverse sticker packs are just waiting to be stuck on your notebooks and laptops, and their t-shirts are perfect for those "oh, this old thing?" moments at trivia night.

This shop slings all manner of novelty soaps (and inventive lip balms!), from exploding frogs to jumbo gummy bears. Not only do these handmade treats look shockingly like the real deal, they make the perfect birthday or hostess gift for the wackier folks in your life. Trust me, you know someone who is down to lather up with a fried egg.

There's cute, and then there's cuuuuuuute. The bits and baubles from artist Eva Stalinski's Stalinski Super Store are definitely the latter. From smiling tote bags to sporty socks, everything in Stalinski's world is fun, original, and most importantly, adorable.

The aesthetic of her shop is whimsical with a major focus on food motifs, and I happen to be a sucker for food with a smiley face. Her use of bright colors and bold outlines gives her prints a sort of "grown up child" vibe (always a win with me) and her quality of work is impeccable. Check out those ice cream sculptures - they're so damn lifelike!

Sometimes, after hours of binge watching or years of fandom, we feel so well acquainted with a certain TV show that it feels like we could walk right onto the set and, say, grab a drink from the kitchen or pop out onto the patio. We know instinctively where Monica and Rachel lay their heads, or where Dorothy and Sophia do their cheesecake eating. These homes are our homes; we know them like the back of our hand.

There's just something warm and cozy about the work of December's Etsy Shop of the Month, Eleventy One Studio. The homey feel of the woodwork, with its clean lines and perfect cutouts, would be just as fitting in an ultra modern loft as it would in a classic ski chalet. The heart of the work comes from the 100+ year-old reclaimed wood, which the shop creator/owner says she drew on as inspiration when she bought and remodeled her first home. After finding some previously-covered wood rafters during construction, she decided to create something beautiful with the wood, first for herself and then for her shop.

We Need More Love Postcard

When I see the collection of original artwork and trinkets on display in the PIETenKEES etsy shop, the words delicate, feminine and adorable come to mind. Every item, from the beautifully designed gift tags to the hand painted porcelain, comes from the same soft, whimsical perspective, and I can’t help but want one of everything.

Each item in this shop is "meticulously handcrafted" in the Netherlands-based attic studio of designer/proprietor Iris. There’s a sense of lightness and ease in her art, but her mastery of color and obvious talent always shines through. You'll find a lot of female faces and cutesy animals (the best things?) throughout her work.

As much as I love making my own costumes, I also love seeing what kind of handmade costumes others come up with. There's just something so special about them! For October's Etsy Shop of the Month, I just had to go with a costume designer - The Wishing Elephant.

This shop offers all kinds of adorable kids and baby costumes, from fruit to lederhosen to a ouija board. They're perfect for Halloween, of course, but many of these costumes are so cute and comfy they could be worn anytime. They'd also be great for seasonal photos (Cupid for Valentine's Day, anyone?) or just to add to a dress up bin.
