Ahhh, sweater weather. The weather so nice they make novelty t-shirts about it. Somehow they don't see the irony there?

Top 10 Fall Boots Under $100 (Some WAY Under!)
What is it about fall that makes me want to shop like no other season?! True, I’m down to hunt the Marshall’s aisles like a jungle cat at almost any moment, but fall tends to be my major purchase season. I love all the comfy knits and cozy layering, and the laid back feel of wearing leggings and boots basically every day.
The switch over from my Birkenstock sandals to my fall boots is almost like a sacred ritual at this point. The changing of the guard, if you will. I need my boots to be cute, obviously, but I also want them to be comfortable (see above mention of my summer of Birkenstocks) and affordable.
In my window shopping haze for fall boots, I’m sharing with you my top ten picks for cute fall boots under $100 (some much under!).

Trend Alert: Embroidered Flowers
![]() |
| Embroidered Drop Waist Dress / Floral Embroidered Leather Biker Jacket |
Have you noticed that almost every fashion item is embroidered lately? I have! It's been building steadily for months, and now I can't do any online window shopping (browser browsing? make it happen, guys.) without spying a vast selection of floral stitching.
I'm intrigued simply because I embrace any reason to add a slew of colors to a look, but also because flowers are just so damn cheerful. I haven't officially jumped on this trend yet, but I've been doing a lot of browser browsing (whoa, guys - is this, like, a thing now?) and wanted to share some of my favorite embroidered pieces in case you want to join this stitching soiree!

FASHION: Minimalist Hair Clips
Isn't it great when something can be cute and useful? No, I'm not talking about YOU (but I see you, girl), I'm talking about these adorable minimalist hair clips, which aside from being totally chic and spunky, also manage to keep your overgrown bangs outta your face.
I think we can all use something that keeps our spur-of-the-moment, midnight-in-the-bathroom-cut bangs out of our faces while we wait through the mandatory grow out phase, only to trim them again when we see the one good photo of ourselves with bangs and wonder why we don't try that look again.
But, duh, you don't have to have semi-regrettable bangs to use these hair clips. Basically any hair you have will be enhanced by these metal designs. Can you imagine a world in which your hair was not improved by the silky silhouette of a cat's tail? Didn't think so.
There's just something about the simplicity of these accessories that appeals to me. I'm on the hunt for perhaps a moon shaped hair clip so I can maybe wear my hair down for once without having to constantly touch it and shove it behind my ear. See? Cute AND useful!

Some of my current favorite minimalist hair clips for you to drool on:

Which hair clip is your favorite? Or are you more into maximalist hair accessories? I'd love to see those! Do you or do you not NEED those whiskers in your life?!

STYLE: Fun Beach Bags
Typically, all of my beach stuff (towel, sunscreen, book, snacks - always snacks) gets stuffed into whatever bag is closest to the door when I realize that I have way more stuff coming to the beach with me than I can carry in my hands. I do have one dedicated beach bag - complete with a bikini-clad kitten in a hammock and the caption "Cat-Nappin'!" - but it is sadly starting to show its age, and I'm keeping an eye out for a cute new beach buddy. Here are some of the cutest beach bags and totes I've seen lately:
Can you even handle that banana print bag? What are you storing all your beach crap in these days?

ROUNDUP: Cool Stuff on the Internet Vol.1
So, I used to do weekly Roundup posts featuring fun stuff I'd found around online that particular week, but it's been quite some time since I've fulfilled that commitment (we're talking blue moon status) for a number of reasons. First and foremost, I didn't feel like it. Second of which, I was not in the mood. And so on. I'm planning on resurrecting this feature every now and again as I see fit. Lucky you! Here's some cool stuff I found on the internet this week:
30 Minute Homemade Soft Pretzels via Sally's Baking Addiction
I basically consider most of my life to be moments between soft pretzels. That is to say, I'm a fan. I've gone the homemade route before and they were okay, but this recipe seems much more promising, not to mention WAY faster.
DIY Pressed Flower Sunglasses via Cowbiscuits
This DIY is genius and so gorgeous! I'm always toying with the idea of gluing random stuff to sunglasses, but this is much more sophisticated that the things I had in mind.
Louise's Creepy Corner via xoJane
Okay, I'm a little obsessed with reading creepy stories online, although I can't figure out why I always seem to do it at night when I'm sure there is a crowd of ghosts reading over my shoulder. This new feature on xoJane offers good creeps, but the comment section is where it's at - everyone has a tale to tell! Grab a nightlight and read up. Check out the first and second installments, too.
At Home With Megan Charters via A Beautiful Mess
The "At Home With..." series is one of my favorite features on A Beautiful Mess, and this home is just my style. Lots of kitschy decor and midcentury furniture, plus a creepy cool portrait named Jerry.

I have no valid excuse to drop the nearly $150 these dresses are each asking, but there is something to be said for super detailed, beautiful embellishments like these. You just keep bringing it, ASOS!
Sharks With Human Teeth via Lost At E Minor
Just what it says in the title, a bunch of sharks with human teeth photoshoped onto their hilarious little mouths. Already, this is actually more entertaining than Shark Week, am I right?
Color Club Miss Bliss Holographic Polish via Streets Ahead Style
Damn, this polish is SHINY. I really want a great holographic nail polish (I told you I was obsessed!), but a lot of them are pah-ricey. This one is actually reasonable! Who knew?

OBSESSED: Hologram
It seems like hologram clothing and accessories are EVERYWHERE lately and I can't seem to get enough. It reminds me of something I would have been (read: totally was) into when I was in, like, sixth grade. I love seeing it on runways because I think hologram fabric is inherently cheap and kiddish looking, but somehow designers make it look much more expensive. I guess they don't just make it look more expensive, but also make it actually more expensive - BUT - there are plenty of less expensive versions available in stores and online, which I've featured below, along with one seriously cool DIY project. Shine on, you crazy hologram.
Do you like the hologram trend or is it just a little too ridiculous for you? Is all of this hologram talk making anyone else think of Tupac?
xoxo,
Michelle
